Privacy Statement
Last updated: February 2025. The Constellation Development Facility (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the place-and-project dashboard for Queensland. This statement describes how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal information, and your rights in relation to that information, consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and applicable law.
1. Who we are
The Constellation Development Facility is a place and project system designed to support the identification and development of economic opportunities across Queensland. We provide an online dashboard for viewing and managing information about local government areas (LGAs), sector opportunities, deals, and development strategies.
2. Information we collect
We may collect:
- Account information: name, email address, and (if you choose) password. If you sign in via a third-party provider (e.g. Google), we receive the identifier and profile details that provider shares.
- Usage information: pages you visit, actions you take within the platform, and technical data such as IP address and browser type, where necessary for security, analytics, or service operation.
- Content you provide: data you enter into the platform (e.g. deal details, strategy drafts, documents) in accordance with your role and the product’s intended use.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to operate the service (including authentication, access control, and support), to improve the platform, to communicate with you about your account or the service, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not use your personal information for marketing unless you have consented. We may use de-identified or aggregated data for analysis and reporting.
4. Sharing and disclosure
Data you enter may be visible to other authenticated users (e.g. team members and administrators) as required for the platform’s intended purpose. We may share personal information with service providers who assist us (e.g. hosting, email, analytics) under confidentiality obligations. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of others. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Storage and security
We store data in Australia where practicable and use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong password and to contact us if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
6. Retention
We retain your account and associated data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. After you delete your account, we retain only what is necessary for legal, audit, or safety purposes, and then delete or de-identify the rest in line with our data retention policy.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. You may delete your account at any time from the settings page, which will remove or anonymise your account data in accordance with our processes. If you have a complaint about our handling of your personal information, please contact us; you may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
8. Changes to this statement
We may update this privacy statement from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and, where appropriate, notify you (e.g. when you next sign in or via email). Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated statement.
9. Contact
For privacy-related enquiries, access or correction requests, or complaints, please contact us using the details provided in the platform or on the About page.
