A first-of-its-kind national pilot program between the Resources Centre of Excellence and BHP Mitsubishi Alliance to understand the scope for integrating circular economy principles across the entire mining value chain — from pit to port. The program includes a comprehensive material flow analysis of all mining waste to identify impact hotspots and catalytic circular opportunities.
A follow-on phase will support businesses to implement recommendations. The program is complemented by the $4 million Queensland Circular Economy (Industry-Research) Program implemented through the Resources Centre of Excellence to support development of business solutions using circular economy principles.
